Earlier this year, the Droughtmaster Research & Education Foundation announced that it would award two bursaries that would enable two young people under the age of 25 years, to attend and actively participate in the exciting and innovative Beef 2024. The response to the announcement was extraordinary, with the Foundation receiving several quality applications from young beef enthusiasts across the country.
The Foundation is pleased to announce the successful applicants - Amy Wheeler of Pitt Vale A Droughtmaster Stud at Kandanga in South East Queensland, and Emalie Hams of Cooly Droughtmaster Stud at St George in Southern Queensland.
The bursaries will enable Amy and Emalie to travel to and from Rockhampton, admission to Beef 2024, attendance at seminars and property tours of their choice, and funds to cover incidental expenses. During the weeklong experience they will be billeted with a Droughtmaster family that will be on the grounds and exhibiting stud beef cattle at the event. This will afford both young women the opportunity to be totally immersed in the program and to experience Beef from the inside.
The Foundation extends its congratulations to both Amy and Emalie.
